Since 1958, the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has played a very key role in helping the Hospital build a solid relationship with the community. They serve as wonderful ambassadors, and successful fund-raisers. The CMH Auxiliary is currently more than 200 members strong.

The Auxiliary operates the Canopy Gift Shoppe located at the entrance of the Cheboygan Memorial Health Center. Other key fund-raisers for the Auxiliary include:

  • "Tag Day", held in early August. Members collect donations at different business locations throughout the community.
  • "Tree of Lights", held early on in the holiday season. Names of those honored and/or remembered by a donation are displayed on a tree in the Hospital's main lobby.
  • "Celebrations". Each year, unique entertainment events are offered in homes and locations throughout the region. Hosts cover all expenses while proceeds go to the Auxiliary.
  • "Book Sales", "Bath & Beauty Product Sales" and a "Holiday Greens & Bake Sale" are other traditional fund-raisers held during the year.

Besides tirelessly helping raise money for Hospital projects, the group hosts six general luncheon meetings a year. They also host an annual Employee Appreciation Tea in May during National Hospital Week, as well as conduct the Annual Tree of Lights Ceremony in early December. Currently, the CMH Auxiliary also coordinates the LifeLine emergency alert home communication system.

New Auxiliary members are always welcome! Annual dues are only $10.
